There is no better way to start a journey through Paris than with an early morning espresso before diving headfirst into the city’s historic streets. On Day 1 of our Paris trip, we took the metro straight to Montmartre, soaked in the iconic streetscapes, passed the famous 32€ giant croissant at Philippe Conticini Café, and rode the Montmartre Funicular up to Sacré-Cœur Basilica. From the hilltop, we walked down through the heart of the city to explore the modern architecture and street art around Centre Pompidou and the Stravinsky Fountain, then finished with a peaceful stroll along the Seine River.
